Twitter Apps = Bad – Why you should be careful what apps you use!
So the other day I decided to pop on our company Twitter account and check out a few things. I was shocked to receive the following message.

So I decided to do a little digging as to why our account was suspended. Go to the link graciously provided by the nice dialog above, I was able to asertain the following.
NO NO’s on Twitter
- Do not use automated applications
- If you use automated applications, pay close attention to your quote per hour and per day (Currently I don’t have hard numbers on this, but I’m pretty sure that your follow and un-follow’s can’t exceed 1,000 a day, used to be 2,000)
- Do not do anything in mass (Twitter Karma)
- If you do things in mass, keep it realistic (Don’t remove 2,000 people at once that aren’t following you back…)
Needless to say we’ve submitted an inquery to try and resolve this. Hopefully we’ll just get a slap on the wrist and will be able to utilize our account again. I feel kind of ignorant, needless to say Twitter’s rules are pretty simple and aren’t very long to read through. Guess I should have done so before I started using 3rd party applications to manage my Twitter account.
I’ll keep everyone posted as to the outcome of our company Twitter account. Again, if Twitter’s watching we really want to keep our account.
